Oklahoma’s Senate

It surprises me how much attention
e-cigarettes are getting in local news these days. It seems like there are
strong opinions on each side of the fence. In Oklahoma debate over e-cigarettes
rages on yesterday 01/22/2014 the senate had a meeting with the doctors,
lawyers, and e-cigarette advocates. The main concern that came up was not only about
the unknown but also about the safety.
There are many shops that mix their
own juices not only this flavor with that flavor but, the all the ingredients of
e-juice. This is what worries me and the senate. I do think that e-juice needs
to be more uniform in the sense that a lab needs to have a hand in regulating
the e-juice. The other reasons is that the FDA is not going to let shops keep
dispensing nicotine which is considered a drug without regulations. Lucky for
many educated and insightful shop owners they have switched from a nicotine
based e-juice to synthetic nicotine based e-juice. Most are already made in a
lab to give the vaping community a sophisticated, poised, and caring community
one that is not demanding respect but, trying to earn it.
Proposed bills right now are about including:
-
Prohibits sales to minors
-
Taxation
-
Regulation of E-juice
-
Prohibits using e-cigarettes in areas
